Community art is a way of making the beauty and benefits of the arts accessible to communities who may have less access to them. Making dance accessible has been my main driving force since 2012 guiding my ethos, my practice and my offerings.

The Golden Years - Sounds of Care.

This project was commissioned by Teatru Salesjan and offered weekly creative sessions for the elderly communities in Care Malta homes to come together, connect and be seen through the arts. These sessions were facilitated with Pamela Kerr and myself in 2023.

Villa Bianca ArtBeat The Malta Trust Foundation.

This project is organised by Villabianca and The Malta Trust Foundation. It offers a space for a group of children and a group of adolescents to come together and create art and clay pieces under the direction of Ryan Galea and Charlo Spiteri Magri. The group is supported by Martha Cutajar Penza and myself as well as dedicated volunteers.

Sounds out Loud

This project had multiple offerings to make music and dance accessible to children and adolescents with disabilities. My work was in two streams of the project; one of which was organised by Moveo Dance Company, offering choreographic workshops to adolescents, re-working the choreography ‘Ara Gejja’ by Patsy Chetchuti in preparation for a stage performance in 2018.

An other strand of the project was organised by Malta School of Music and consisted of delivering one-to-one music sessions to children with disabilities within a resource centre, nourishing focus and relationship through shared connection with music. These sessions were delivered under the supervision of music therapist Rosetta Debattista.
